Q & A With Local Quartz Expert

TEAMWORK MAKES YOUR DREAM WORK. WE’VE LEARNED THAT GETTING THE BEST PLAYERS ON YOUR TEAM IS WHAT CONTRIBUTES TO THE GREATEST SUCCESS – NOT JUST FOR US, BUT FOR YOU.

So, we’re taking some time to sit down with some of our most trusted partners to learn more about them. Today, meet Madison Pearson of Cambria, one of our natural quartz experts in Rochester.

R. FLEMING CONSTRUCTION: WHAT TRENDS ARE YOU SEEING IN THE COUNTERTOP INDUSTRY RIGHT NOW? STYLES OR COLORS THAT ARE COMING BACK OR GOING AWAY?

Madison Pearson: Earthy tones with subtle movement is the direction we are seeing our customers leaning. Classic and timeless are two words to describe the style that consumers are seeking. Consumers are also loving the alloys and we see Brass being utilized in many projects throughout the market.

RFC: WHAT ARE YOUR BEST SELLING DESIGNS RIGHT NOW?

MP: Everleigh, Brittanica Gold Ward, Berkshire Brass, Inverness Frost, Charlestown, Colton, and Windermere.

RFC: WHAT MAKES CAMBRIA SPECIAL OR STAND OUT AMONGST OTHER COMPETITORS?

MP: Cambria is a family-owned company based in Le Sueur, MN. We happen to be the only quartz surface business that is American made. Cambria continues to be the most innovative quartz company in the market. Our products deliver hundreds of designs, superior strength, and zero maintenance. Our surfaces are completely food safe and stain resistant with a lifetime transferable warranty.

RFC: ONE OF CAMBRIA’S RECENT MAGAZINES HIGHLIGHTED BEYOND THE SURFACE APPLICATIONS, CAN YOU SPEAK TO THESE TYPES OF APPLICATIONS?

MP: Cambria absolutely has the ability to go beyond the surface of countertops. Cambria works great as a full height backsplash, but we are seeing so many more projects with fireplaces, showers and tub surrounds. Showers have been a huge players for us as it takes the tile work out of the equation and if you haven’t heard, grout is out! Make cleaning your shower a breeze, with grout free Cambria surrounds.

RFC: ARE YOU SEEING A LOT OF EXPERIMENTATION WITH CLIENTS OR BUSINESSES? WANTING TO MIX DIFFERENT STONES OR MATERIALS TOGETHER? TRYING DIFFERENT CUTS OF CURVES OR LAYOUTS? IF SO, WHAT ARE YOU SEEING?

MP: Designers find inspiration from everywhere and we are always excited to work with a new idea. Adding a scalloped backsplash to a vanity to elevate the project is something we are seeing more and more of in the market. It’s those small elements of flare, that don’t take away from the larger design, but rather enhance it.
